On Thursday, Nov. 14, the Brahmanettes beat Huffman Hargrave in the regional final 3-0. They secured their ticket to the state semifinal match in Austin, Texas.
The Brahmanettes were undefeated district champions this year, and they currently hold a 21 week win streak. It is a combination of the players’ dedication and their coaches wisdom that keeps them winning.
Susan Brewer, the Brahmanettes’ head coach, is part of the amazing coaching staff that keeps the team on top. Coaching Bellville teams for over forty years, there is no doubt she is irreplaceable to the Brahmanettes. Throughout her career, she guided dozens of teams to playoffs and state finals, and there’s no doubt she hopes to do the same this season.
However, the players are just as important for a successful. The entire roster is stacked with talented young women who are poised for successful careers beyond high school.
This year, libero and defensive specialist Sydney McKay was honored by AVCA as an All-Region athlete. And, McKay is committed to High Point University in North Carolina.
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, the Brahmanettes will play in the state semifinal match against Davenport. They will play in the Tony Burger Center at 6:00 pm in Austin. Tickets are available online.
