Bellville Band Members Advance to ATSSB Area Competition

On Saturday, January 11, three high school band students competed in the ATSSB Area Band auditions for the opportunity to play in the ATSSB All-State Band. In addition, one student competed earlier in the year in the ATSSB Area Jazz auditions.

Of the three students that competed in January:

Lydia Huebner, senior, placed 1st chair in the ATSSB Region Band and advanced to area. She placed 4th chair, but only the top two chairs advanced to state.

Mia Surovik, junior, placed 1st chair in the ATSSB Region Band and advanced to area. She earned 10th chair. However, the top two chairs advance to state.

Emily Chen, senior, placed 4th chair in the ATSSB Region Band and advanced to area. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the competition

Earlier in the year, Jason Guerrero, sophomore, placed 3rd chair in the ATSSB Region Jazz Band and advanced to area. He placed 8th chair at area jazz auditions; the top five advanced to state.
