On Friday, Oct. 25th, the Brahmas travelled away to play Giddings in the third district game. Bellville fans waited with high expectations for the team before the game started. The Brahmas’ undefeated district record was unlikely to be shaken by Giddings’ 2-5 record.
The first quarter proved to be a strong start for the Brahmas. DD Murray scored the first touchdown early into the quarter. Layne Grawunder completed a pass and earned the Brahmas their first two-point conversion for the season.
During the 2024 season, the Brahmas never completed a two-point conversion. They often relied on Bellville alum Fernando Grajales for field goals. The evolution of the Brahmas over the past year continues to Bellville supporters engaged in the current season.
Time wasted away for the Buffaloes, but Kendrick Turner and Travis Turner contributed another three touchdowns before the end of the first half.
Notably, Travis Turner ran a 52-yard touchdown within the first few minutes of the second quarter. Aided by a previous interception by Fry Hill, Kendrick Turner scored his own 52-yard run later in the quarter.
Before the end of the half, touchdowns by DD Murray and Izak Hranicky brought the Brahmas to 50-o.
After Giddings’ kickoff, Bellville returned the ball to their own 40-yard line. The early possession left no mark on the third quarter. Both teams were unable to score a touchdown in the quarter.
While the excitement of the first half dimmed on the field, the stands remained lively. Performances and routines by the Bellville Band and Brahmadoras kept the energy going for the remainder of the game. The Brahmas scored no other touchdowns, however, Raul Alvarado kicked a 31-yard field goal as a final Bellville Brahma goodbye to the Giddings team.
The Brahmas will play Madisonville at home on November 1st. The last home game of the season will dedicate time to the senior players, cheerleaders, band members, and Brahmadoras. It’s a final send-off for students committed to representing Bellville throughout their high school careers.
